The Transmission Bridge TB-1 is designed according to the specification shown in the UK BSI standard BS6305. It consists of a voltage regulated power supply feeding via a constant current circuit to the equipment under test. External signals can be fed to the equipment via two closely matched capacitively coupled inputs.
The power supply can be set, via front panel switches, to be either a 50v constant voltage fed via a 400 ohm resistance or a variable constant current feed. The latter provides the high ac impedance normally associated with large and heavy inductors. In addition, there are three precision 300 ohm resistors that can be switched into the circuit, to allow the tests detailed in the standard to be carried out without the need for any additional external components.
The feed circuit has two terminals inserted in one leg to allow monitoring of the line current. Front panel switching and additional local earth and generator input terminals allows setting up of most test circuits without the addition of any external components. |
