The Supervisory Tone Generator STG-1 can provide the tones normally found, either from the exchange, or sent by payphones and associated equipment.
Front panel rotary switches are used to select the tone required, and these are presented via a line socket or screw terminals on the front panel.
The output can be varied to 0dBm and the tones are sinusoidal in all cases, except the 'old' dial tone which is rich in harmonics.
The unit solves the problem of providing supervisory tones when testing equipment. It is no longer necessary to utilise a real 'phone line to generate these tones, and thus is much more convenient and less expensive. |
