The Ringing Test Generator RTG-1 is a high voltage sinewave oscillator, with variable output and frequency. In addition there are four selectable cadence options, one being a gate input to allow custom cadences to be provided by use of such equipment as our Cadence Generator CG-1.
The output can be varied, via front panel controls, from 0v to 100v rms, and the frequency from 10 to 50Hz. The cadence can be selected, via front-panel push-buttons, for PSTN, PABX, Continuous or custom. When Custom is selected the cadence will respond to a signal applied to the Gate input. This can be an external dc voltage or, using the +5v available at the front panel, can be a switch or relay contact.
The output voltage and frequency are continuously displayed on the front panel LED display, and the cadence is indicated by a single LED.
Output is provided on line jack sockets plus 4mm screw terminals. A current limit circuit prevents short-circuits of the output, and an additional benefit is that ringing is prevented once the item under test is off-hook. |
