Ringing Generator RG1-c

increase ringing capacity
of PSTN or PABX

download a full specification in pdf format

The Ringing Generator RG1-c enables standard telephone lines or PABX extensions to ring multiple bells, or drive multiple telephone handsets.
Under normal circumstances there is a maximum number of bells or telephones that can be succesfully rung, and this depends on the REN number of the apparatus attached to the line. Up to four items having a REN of 1 can be rung but after that they become unreliable.

To overcome this the ringing has to be regenerated locally, and this is achieved with the RG1-c. It is mains powered and provides a high impedance input and outputs a 25Hz sinewave that itself is capable of ringing another six bells. The units can also drive each other so may be cascaded to allow an infinite number of bells to be rung.

The unit can be 'enabled' by a wide variety of signals including incoming ringing itself, and there is a self-cadence option that allows connection to a dc or relay contact source.
