The Pulse Period Counter PPC-1 provides a means of accurately measuring the period of either a dc pulse or an ac wavetrain envelope.
A need arose, whilst developing our Ringing Generators, to measure their cadence periods, and although the job could be done using oscilloscopes etc. this was not convenient, so we developed this unit to do the job.
Once the design was conceived it was sensible to add a dc mode as well, and now the unit is almost indespensible, being used to measure the afore-mentioned cadences, as well as general pulse width determination.
The periods can be any one of a train of four, being two 'on' and two 'off' periods. The required period is switch selectable from the front panel , and the period is displayed on a 4-digit LED display.
The maximum period measured is 9.999 seconds, accuracy is +/- 1 mS.
